Leading
Two new polls show Scott Brown leading Martha Coakley heading into Tuesday's special election. Public Policy Polling has this as a 51-46 race. Another poll, conducted by the Merriman River Group and InsideMedford.com, gives Brown a 9.6% lead (50.8-41.2). In both polls, Brown has a significant lead among independents. The PPP numbers represent an improvement for Brown; last week, he led by only 48-47. There seem to be some undecideds who could swing either candidate's way. There's also some uncertainty about what will happen to those voters supportive of Libertarian Joseph Kennedy. Will they back him or swing to Brown/Coakley? With a special election like this, turnout will be key.
